Question: If you were a pie, what kind of pie would you be?
I follow a gal on Instagram (Emma Plowright @plowrong) who asks ridiculous (her word, not mine) questions that you can pose to your partner, friend, sibling, coworker, etc. MOH and I recently had a fun time answering a group of her questions, and suffice it to say, we know each other pretty well. LOL
Some were no-brainers for us.
- Who looks most like they did when they were a baby? (both agree – me)
- Who is more likely to remember the name of a dog that they’ve only met once? (both agree – me)
- If you were both flying squirrels, who would be able to glide furthest? (both agree – MOH)
- If you were both insects, who would bump into windows the most while trying to leave the room? (both agree – me)

Those last two questions are probably a little too revealing about my coordination and awkwardness. I didn’t really have an answer to some of the questions, but I found them surprisingly intriguing. Is it just me?
- If you were both bulbs of garlic, who would have the most cloves?
- If you were both sore thumbs, who would be more likely to stick out?
- If you were a teabag, how long would you brew for?
- If you were a vine, would you prefer to be the type that hangs or climbs?
- Would you rather bubble or squeak?
I think there is both a superficial answer, and perhaps, one with deeper meaning.

But back to the question about the pie, I have a secondary question. Won’t everybody answer by naming their favorite kind of pie? If not, what thought process did you use to answer the question? For example, my favorite kind of pie is blueberry crumble. Why would my answer be anything else? Why would I want to be… say, lemon meringue? I’m kind of down a rabbit hole thinking about this now, but if you are a person that would want to be a different kind of pie than your favorite kind of pie, I need to hear from you!
Emma has a book coming out in December called Ridiculous Questions to Ask Your Partner and is available through the link in her bio. You can also find her, Emma Plowrong, on TikTok, Threads, X, and YouTube.
